This is the situation that I found myself in just 6 weeks ago.  My boyfriend and I were on vacation in Aspen, CO with friends for a week over my 29th birthday.  Having an amazing time for sure complete with hiking, biking, spa treatments, fabulous meals out and just plain old relaxing.  

On my birthday we decided to hike Smuggler by ourselves. Once at the top, overlooking the gorgeous town of Aspen he presented me with a copy of Brides Magazine (upside down ~ while he was trying to distract me from him getting the ring out while I flipped over to the cover, little did he know however that on the back cover of most bridal magazines is a HUGE ad for engagement rings!  Still very sweet) and he then proposed.  

After just beginning our 8th year together, of course I said YES!!  The hike down the mountain was by far the best hiking experience to date along with the proposal break at the top and one that I will no doubt remember forever.  We discussed that this proposal location is perfect because we can hike up with our children and grandchildren for years to come as it is one of the milder hikes in Aspen.
